Turning on the physics in Family Placement will allow for you to make sure that any placement you make will not cause a clash.

To turn on or off the physics, simply Navigate to "Family Placement" tab and toggle the checkbox in the bottom right corner.

With the physics on, you will see that when you take a family and move it close to another object, it will stop moving despite how you move your mouse. The family will again move when your mouse is on a surface it can exist without clashing with any other objects.

With the physics off, you will see that, while the family object will be placed according to a surface that you are pointing too with the mouse, it will clip into other objects if it is close enough. You won't place an object behind a wall you are looking at, but you might place it on a wall and clashing with the floor nearby.

We have seen that sometimes, it is easier to place an object correctly with the physics off. We want to be able to give the user the option so that they can place families as they see fit.
