How to Change the Highlighted Color of Tasks

Objective 1: How to highlight task
Method 1: Highlight all Construction tasks or all Demolish task
Method 2: Highlight all Construction tasks and Demolish task
Method 3: Highlight the object by task

Objective 2: Change the transparency of the highlighted color
Method 1: Steady transparency
Method 2: Changing transparency between start and finish date

Objective 3: Highlight objects in planned and actual simulation
Remarks: How to compare the planned and actual simulation

Objective 4: Remove the highlight color (i.e. use the original color of the object to play the animation)

Objective 1: How to highlight objects
Step 1. Open Menu and click “4D Simulation”


Step 2. Prepare a schedule in 4D Simulation

Note: You can refer to this link to know more about the task types (https://kalloctech.com/posts/list/84710.page)



Method 1: Highlight all Construction tasks or all Demolish task
Step 1: Click “Settings” and click “Highlight”


Step 2. Click next to Construct to change the highlighted color in construction task



Step 3. Clickto choose the color


Step 4. Choose the color you like and click “OK” to confirm the change


Step 5. Clickto close the color amendment box


The highlighted color for all construction tasks is changed.



Remarks:
You can clicknext to demolish task to edit the color for all demolish task by repeating the above step 3- 5.



Method 2: Highlight all Construction task and Demolish Task
Step 1. Clicknext to Master


Step 2. Clickto choose the color


Step 3. Choose the color you like and click “OK” to confirm the change


Step 4. Clickto close the color amendment box

Step 5. Check the box “Master Override” to confirm the changes for all tasks


The highlighted color for all construction and demolish tasks is changed



Method 3: Highlight the object by task
Step 1. Clickto create a construction task

Step 2. Clickto edit the color of the animation in construction task
Remarks: You can refer to the tutorial How to edit columns of the schedule in 4D simulation (https://www.kalloctech.com/posts/list/0/84906.page#99787) to learn how to add the column “Highlight” if the column is not in the schedule


Step 3. Clickto choose the color


Step 4. Choose the color you like and click “OK” to confirm the change


Step 5. Clickto close the color amendment box



The highlighted color for the selected construction task is changed.


Remarks: By checking the box in the color box, the highlighted color would change back to the default color



Objective 2: Change the transparency of the highlighted color

Method 1: Steady transparency

Step 1. Click

Step 2. Select “General”


Step 3. Drag the bar next to Alpha



Method 2: Changing transparency between start and finish date

Step 1. Set “Start / Finish” to set the transparency


Step 2. Enter the value to change the transparency between the start date and the end date
Remarks: When Transparency = 100, the object will disappear. When transparency = 0, the highlighted color is solid.


The color transparency of selected task is changed
Step 3. Clickto close the color box

Result


Objective 3: How to highlight objects in Simulate Planned and Simulate Actual




Step 1. Click the palettein the task you want to edit


Step 2. Click the paint bucketto change the color
Select the color you want to change to
Click “OK”

Remarks: How to pop up new window for the simulate planned and simulate actual


Step 1. Click “Planned/Actual”

Result

A window showing the Planned simulation will open

Objective 4: Remove the highlight color (i.e. use the original color of the object to play the animation)

Step 1. Click

Step 2. Clickto make it become


Remarks: Remember to set the Transparency as “General” to show the original color of the objects
