How to Automatically Assign Objects to Tasks

Watch the Youtube Video Tutorial

Adding custom ID's to Revit
Step 1: Open Revit


Step 2: Click “Manage”


Step 3: Click “Project Parameter”


Step 4: Click “Add”


Step 5: Enter Name as “4D_Build_Code”


Step 6: Set Discipline as “Common”


Step 7: Set Type of Parameter as “Text”


Step 8: Click “Check All”


Step 9: Click “Ok”


Step 10: Click “Ok”


Step 11: Click an object


Step 12: Click the cell next to the added Custom ID


Step 13: Copy the Task Name from the schedule to the value in Revit


Step 14: Press “Enter” button and the click “Apply”


Auto-assign in Fuzor
Step 1: Launch Fuzor


Step 2: Open the Menu


Step 3: Click on “4D Simulation


Step 4: Click “Filters”


Step 5: Click “New” to create a new filter


Step 6: Click “New” to set filter parameter


Step 7: Select “Parameter”


Step 8: Click an object to locate your custom parameter


Step 9: Enter the parameter name into “Filter By”
Note: All fields are case-sensitive


Step 10: Enter a column designator into “Value”
Note:
“$id” = objects will auto-filter based on the Schedule ID
“$TaskName” = objects will auto-filter based on the Task Name
“$Custom1” = objects will auto-filter based on the Custom Column 1*
There are up to 6 custom columns, i.e. “$Custom2”, “$Custom3”, “$Custom4”, etc.


Step11: Click “Apply”


Step 12: Click “Close”


Step 13: Click “Apply to Tasks”
Note: Objects will automatically filter to tasks
