How to add animations to the Construction Equipment  XML

Click on any construction vehicle to bring up this UI. This UI allows users to animate vehicle.

"Grab Object" Allows construction vehicle to grab an object

"Move Object" Allows user to move the object that belongs to a vehicle

"Move Vehicle" Allows user to move the vehicle to another location for the current node

"Update" Allows users to update an existing node in the animation sequence

"Add" Allows user to Add a node to the animation sequence

"Insert" Allows users to Insert a node anywhere in the sequence

"Reset" Allows the user to jump back to first node in the sequence

button is used to delete a node

Allows users to play their animation sequence

Loop speed can be changed by clicking any buttons shown below.

This checkbox allows users to turn animation looping on/off

Step 1: Click on the construction vehicle part that can be animated.

Note: User can use the input box labeled 1 or the gizmo labeled 2 on the image below to animate the construction vehicle.

In this example, I would like to rotate the main cabin 90 degrees. Entering 90 the input box shown below will rotate the cab in 90 degree.

Step 2: Click the "Add" button to add a new animation node to the sequence.

Step 3: We will now click on the vehicle arm to add a different animation to this vehicle.

Step 4: Use the wheel shown below. Grab and drag the lever to adjust it's position or use the input box for precise value.

Step 5: Click the "Add" button to add this node to the construction sequence. Adding multiple nodes with different positions of the vehicle will allow the user to create an animation sequence.

Navigating animation states
To preview the animation sequence, Click the arrows shown below to go to the previous/next animation node, or scrub the timeline using the slider.
