Hello Fuzor Users.

We have been having a few customers ask us about importing decal-like images into Fuzor. We are currently working on a system that will use the information we can gather from Revit to allow for users to manually find and import the images used for their decals. For right now, however, a similar effect can be achieved using Split faces.

So, on whatever canvas of the users choosing, simply create a split face that will hold the decal image.

You will want the split face to be small, or at the exact size as the image you want to represent. The image will be used as a texture in a material and will initially repeat and tile. The split face needs to be small enough to hold only one tile instance of the texture.

Create a new Material and assign it the decal image as a texture.

If necessary, it might be good to resize the texture and move the UV offset to have the image show up as intended in Revit.

Launch Fuzor and the split face with the decal material assigned to it should be visible. However, the decals UV may still be off a bit, leaving a tiling pattern.

To combat this, a user can use Fuzor's internal material editor to change how the texture is positioned.

Clicking on the wall or object the split face is a part of, the user can find the material being used for the decal image

Use the UV position adjustment, along with the UV rotation and scaling if necessary, to align the decal image into the correct spot within the Split Face.

Once that is done, The split face will be displaying the singular image just as a decal could. Save this information into a Fuzor Cache file for later use.
